Traffic Executive – Heavy Vehicle & Trailer Operations

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Traffic Executive to lead heavy vehicle and trailer operations. The role involves managing local market vehicle placement, negotiating freight rates, and ensuring seamless transportation for a variety of cargo types, including over‑dimensional and full‑truck‑load shipments.

Key responsibilities

• Arrange and place local market vehicles such as trailers, cranes, tippers, trucks, and hydraulic axles according to customer requirements.
• Negotiate competitive freight rates with brokers and transport vendors.
• Maintain and expand a network of transport brokers, fleet owners, and vehicle suppliers.
• Source vehicles quickly to meet urgent operational needs.
• Coordinate with customers, operations teams, drivers, brokers, and vendors to ensure timely vehicle placement.
• Monitor vehicle movement to guarantee on‑time loading, dispatch, transit, and delivery.
• Handle transportation planning for ODC (Over Dimensional Cargo) and FTL (Full Truck Load) shipments.
• Verify transportation documents, including permits, e‑way bills, invoices, PODs, gate passes, and other statutory paperwork.
• Maintain daily records of vehicle placement, freight rates, broker payments, and operational updates.
• Resolve transportation issues, delays, and vehicle shortages to keep operations uninterrupted.
• Track market freight trends and provide regular updates on transportation rates.

Required profile

• Graduate in any discipline (logistics qualification is an advantage).
• 3–8 years of experience in transportation, logistics, traffic operations, or fleet coordination.
• Strong knowledge of market freight rates, local vehicle sourcing, and broker management.
• Hands‑on experience with ODC and FTL transportation operations.
• Good understanding of trailers, heavy commercial vehicles, route planning, and transportation documentation.
• Excellent negotiation, coordination, and communication abilities.
