Tekla Steel Detailing Assistant Project Manager

About the role

JMT Consultants Detailing Private Limited is looking for an experienced Assistant Project Manager to join its Steel team. The role supports the Project Manager in coordinating structural steel detailing projects from planning through completion, ensuring quality, schedule and client expectations are met.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Project Manager with daily coordination, staff management and project documentation.
• Monitor project progress, provide status updates and resolve issues to keep projects on schedule.
• Prepare, track and manage RFIs and design change summaries throughout the project lifecycle.
• Enter and maintain information in digital project databases and management systems.
• Support strategic planning for upcoming packages, offering insights to ensure successful execution.

Required profile

• B.Tech/B.E. in Civil or Mechanical engineering (or equivalent postgraduate qualification).
• 7+ years of experience in steel detailing, with at least 5 years on AISC/CISC projects.
• Proven project management and coordination skills, self‑motivated and deadline‑driven.
• Strong written and spoken communication abilities.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in Tekla Structures.
• In‑depth knowledge of AISC and CISC standards.
• Experience with model checking and erection checking.
• Expertise in structural steel detailing and fabrication.
• Familiarity with US commercial project requirements.
