Technical Specialist – Technical Support (MRI R&D)

About the role

As a Technical Specialist – Technical Support within Philips' MRI R&D organization, you will install, maintain, upgrade and troubleshoot state‑of‑the‑art MRI systems in the Development Test Environment (DTE). You will ensure the safety, quality and performance of MRI test bays used by verification, validation and development teams in Bangalore.

Key responsibilities

• Install, calibrate and maintain MRI systems, including high‑power electrical components and hardware‑simulated test machines.
• Provide 2nd and 3rd level support for MRI test configurations, analysing root causes of image‑quality issues, scan aborts and performance problems.
• Manage logistics for MRI R&D assets – procurement, shipment coordination, receipt, inspection and configuration‑management documentation.
• Support R&D teams with interoperability settings, integration, test and verification activities, and conduct training on MRI safety and operations.
• Maintain asset inventory, plan daily operations of test bays and propose improvements to DTE processes.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical, Electronics or Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in field service engineering, R&D or related technical roles on MRI systems.
• Hands‑on experience with MRI service, maintenance and cryogenic system management.
• Strong problem‑solving, analytical and communication skills, able to work under pressure.
