Technical Project Manager – Automation & AI (Contract)

About the role

We are seeking a Technical Project Manager on a contract basis to lead high‑complexity technology programmes focused on automation and AI‑driven transformation within the banking and payments sector. The role will own end‑to‑end delivery, translating business outcomes into technical work packages and enabling engineering teams to execute with clarity and velocity.

Key responsibilities

• Own program delivery from initiation through transition, establishing integrated scope‑schedule‑cost‑quality baselines and governing changes.
• Drive execution using stage‑gate and Agile/Hybrid cadences, proactively managing risks, issues, assumptions and dependencies (RAID).
• Serve as primary contact for internal and external stakeholders, run governance ceremonies and provide transparent status reporting.
• Translate business outcomes into technical work packages, ensuring non‑functional requirements such as security, performance and compliance are embedded.
• Guide cross‑functional teams across cloud, APIs/integration, data/analytics, CI/CD, DevSecOps and automation/AI platforms, removing technical blockers.
• Own budget, forecast and variance tracking, ensuring audit readiness and regulatory compliance.
• Coach Project Managers and Scrum Masters, reinforcing lean, data‑driven delivery practices.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent.
• Proven track record leading large technology programmes in BFSI/payments with automation and AI components.
• Hands‑on experience implementing AI solutions for contact centre and back‑office (IVA, Agent Assist, Unified Desktop).
• Strong mastery of project‑management disciplines, vendor management and financial control.
• Relevant certifications such as PMP/PRINCE2, Agile (CSM/SAFe), AI/ML or Python.
