Technical Lead – Vehicle Dynamics Simulation Engineer (MBD)

About the role

Applus IDIADA is seeking an experienced Vehicle Dynamics Analyst to lead multibody dynamics simulations for suspension and steering systems. You will work across the full product development cycle, from concept to production sign‑off, ensuring vehicles meet ride, handling and durability targets.

Key responsibilities

• Perform multibody dynamics simulations using ADAMS or equivalent tools to finalise hard‑point layouts and calculate forces/moments on suspension components.
• Execute virtual durability rig tests (3‑post, 4‑post, 6‑post, single‑corner) to accelerate development cycles.
• Evaluate suspension aggregates, recommend design optimisations, and correlate on‑road behaviour with simulation predictions.
• Support steering system design, assessing feel, returnability and under‑steer/over‑steer characteristics.
• Act as technical liaison between vehicle dynamics, chassis design and testing teams, providing data‑driven feedback.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical or Automotive Engineering.
• 5–7 years of hands‑on experience in vehicle dynamics, chassis engineering or NVH within an OEM or Tier‑1 environment.
• Proficiency with ADAMS/Car, CarSim or VI‑Grade simulation tools.
• Strong understanding of suspension kinematics, compliance and vehicle dynamics theory.
• Experience defining and executing component‑level DVPs.
