Team Lead: Editorial Engagement Support

About the role

The Team Lead – Editorial Engagement Support will oversee a team that provides high‑quality assistance to external and internal academic editors and peer reviewers. Based in Pune, the role focuses on data governance, workflow management and customer service for a specific portfolio of journals, ensuring that editor and reviewer information is accurate, compliant and readily available across Springer Nature’s enterprise systems.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and develop a distributed team of Editorial Engagement Support Specialists and Assistants.
• Act as the primary data producer for editor and reviewer records, guaranteeing compliance with agreed data standards.
• Collaborate with Journal Owners, Operations, Technology and the wider Editorial Engagement Team to streamline end‑to‑end publishing processes.
• Oversee the onboarding experience for new editors and reviewers, ensuring a positive and efficient transition.
• Monitor and improve workflow efficiency, addressing any data quality or service issues promptly.

Required profile

• Proven experience in data governance, workflow management or related customer‑service functions.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a multi‑location support team.
• Strong understanding of academic publishing processes and stakeholder collaboration.
• Excellent communication and problem‑solving skills.
