Team Lead - Account Payable

About the role

Linedata is seeking a Team Lead to oversee its Expense Accounting function. The role combines leadership of a team of analysts with hands‑on responsibility for high‑risk accounting activities, month‑end reporting and audit readiness.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, prioritize and monitor the Expense Accounting calendar, ensuring deadlines, SLAs and quality standards are met.
• Supervise, mentor and motivate analysts and senior analysts, handling workload allocation, onboarding, training and performance feedback.
• Perform risk‑based reviews of vendor banking changes, pay‑run support, vendor payments, fund reimbursements, cash movements, bank reconciliations, accruals, prepaids and regulatory schedules.
• Ensure all deliverables comply with accounting principles, client policies, internal controls and have the correct financial statement impact.
• Act as the primary Linedata contact for Expense Accounting, Fund Accounting, Treasury, Tax/Compliance, Operations, vendors and internal requestors.
• Oversee month‑end trackers, AP/GL trial balance reviews, bank and receivable reconciliations, expense analysis and regulatory/tax schedules.
• Maintain audit‑ready documentation, maker‑checker reviews, exception logs and SOPs, identifying and remediating control gaps.
• Lead continuous‑improvement initiatives, updating SOPs, templates, dashboards and Alteryx workflows to automate processes and improve handoffs.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading accounting or finance teams, including mentoring and performance management.
• Strong knowledge of expense accounting, AP/AR, cash management, accruals, prepaids and related regulatory requirements.
• Demonstrated ability to manage stakeholder relationships across finance, treasury, tax and operations.
• Experience ensuring audit readiness and maintaining robust internal controls.
• Track record of driving process improvement and automation in a finance environment.
