Tax Specialist

About the role

Shell is seeking a Tax Specialist to manage direct tax activities for India and other APAC countries. The role involves ensuring timely tax compliance, supporting tax assessments, and collaborating with finance, legal, and controller teams.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and file monthly, quarterly and annual direct tax provisions and returns.
• Support migration of tax activities across APAC jurisdictions.
• Coordinate tax assessments and resolve audit queries.
• Maintain compliance with RASCI and statutory filing deadlines.
• Execute tax true‑ups, deferred tax provisions and produce tax computations.
• Collaborate with senior finance staff at country and regional levels.
• Identify process improvement opportunities and drive best practices.

Required profile

• Chartered Accountant (CA) with 1‑2 years post‑qualification experience, or a postgraduate with at least 5 years of direct tax experience.
• Strong knowledge of corporate taxation and financial reporting.
• Familiarity with ERP systems used within the Shell Group.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict deadlines.
