Tax Consultant – Indirect Tax – Mumbai

About the role

EY is seeking a Tax Consultant to join its Indirect Tax team in Mumbai. You will support client engagements by delivering tax compliance and advisory services while ensuring high‑quality, timely deliverables.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and file individual tax returns, e‑TDS returns, and draft submissions for tax authorities.
• Represent clients before tax authorities and advise on inbound/outbound employee structuring, immigration, and provident‑fund matters for expatriates.
• Collaborate with senior tax professionals to deliver comprehensive tax solutions and maintain electronic working papers.
• Analyze data, produce accurate tax advisory/compliance products, and ensure readiness for tax inspections.
• Contribute to team performance, share knowledge, and uphold confidentiality of client information.

Required profile

• Certified Chartered Accountant (CA) with 0‑1 year of relevant experience.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines, and manage time effectively.
• Analytical mindset with a willingness to learn and collaborate.
