Tax Analyst II – VAT Compliance (EMEA)

About the role

Amazon’s International Indirect Tax Compliance team in Bratislava is looking for a Tax Analyst II to support VAT compliance across the EMEA region. You will work as part of a larger team to prepare, analyse and submit VAT returns, while ensuring accurate filings and supporting tax audits.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, review and submit EMEA VAT returns and related filings.
• Organise VAT registrations in multiple jurisdictions.
• Map VAT processes, identify improvement opportunities and propose solutions.
• Perform month‑end VAT account reconciliations.
• Provide data analysis and support for internal and external audits.
• Assist business units, especially accounting groups, with VAT compliance queries.
• Contribute to tax requirement documentation for technology teams.
• Lead or participate in cross‑functional projects focused on automation and in‑housing.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, tax or a related field.
• 2+ years of experience in VAT advisory or compliance.
• Experience in a large public accounting firm or multinational corporate tax department.
• Business‑fluent English.
• Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple priorities.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Advanced expertise in Microsoft Excel.
