Tax Analyst - Global Compliance & Reporting (FPI)

About the role

EY is hiring a Tax Analyst for its Global Compliance and Reporting practice in Mumbai, working with foreign portfolio investors (FPI) clients. The role covers day-to-day tax compliance, including uploading transactions and incomes, preparing tax computations and responding to client and custodian queries.

Key responsibilities

• Handle day-to-day tax compliance for multiple FPI clients, including uploading transactions and incomes into the database
• Review uploaded transactions, generate tax computations and mail them to clients and custodian banks
• Respond to client and custodian queries about transactions and tax computations
• Interact with custodian banks, brokers and agents to obtain information and clarifications on client transactions in India
• Study corporate actions affecting clients in the Indian capital market, update the database and prepare tax computations
• Create computations and templates usable across all clients
• Periodically reconcile client transactions with custodian records and review year-end transactions to finalise taxable income for income-tax returns
• Maintain client confidentiality, independence and compliance with all FPI business processes

Required profile

• Bachelor of Commerce or Master of Commerce
• 3+ years of experience in financial analysis
• Strong English communication, able to adapt to different audiences
• Collaborative, agile and adaptable, able to escalate issues when needed

Required skills

• Strong working knowledge of large Excel files, including macros and formulas
• Experience reviewing large numerical figures and working with large data files
