Tax Analyst 2

About the role

The Tax Analyst 2 supports Citi’s tax function by managing tax liabilities, ensuring compliance, and providing analytical insight for the custody product line. This client‑facing position works closely with internal teams, regulators and external clients to address tax‑related queries.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the overall management of Citi’s tax liabilities, including planning, accounting, filing and reporting.
• Assist in gathering and compiling information required for income‑tax filings across multiple jurisdictions.
• Participate in payments to tax authorities and ensure compliance with applicable tax regulations.
• Provide technical advice on tax policies, procedures and regulatory requirements.
• Investigate custody client tax inquiries and respond in a timely, accurate manner.
• Identify process inefficiencies and recommend improvements aligned with unit goals.
• Interact regularly with peers, clients, regulators and professional organisations.
• Assess risk in business decisions, uphold Citi’s reputation and ensure adherence to compliance policies.

Required profile

• 2‑5 years of relevant experience, preferably in banking or financial services.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• Experience in a client‑facing role handling tax‑related queries.
• Strong understanding of tax compliance, financial reporting and regulatory environments.
