Tandoori Chef

About the role

VDC Restro is seeking a dedicated Tandoori Chef to join its vegetarian kitchen in Delhi. The chef will be responsible for creating authentic vegetarian tandoori dishes while upholding the restaurant’s high standards of taste, presentation, and hygiene.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and cook a variety of vegetarian tandoori breads, starters, and main‑course items.
• Marinate ingredients and manage tandoor temperature to ensure consistent cooking.
• Monitor cooking times, portion dishes accurately, and plate them according to restaurant standards.
• Maintain kitchen hygiene, safety protocols, and clean workstations.
• Coordinate with kitchen and service staff to manage order flow during peak hours.
• Assist with inventory checks, ingredient ordering, and support menu development.

Required profile

• Strong experience operating a tandoor and preparing vegetarian tandoori dishes.
• Hands‑on experience in a professional kitchen, preferably North Indian or vegetarian cuisine.
• Knowledge of food safety, hygiene practices, and basic kitchen sanitation.
• Ability to work efficiently during busy periods and follow standardized recipes.
• Good communication skills and a collaborative attitude.
• Prior experience as a Tandoori Chef or Cook; culinary training or certification is a plus.
