Systems Administrator – Technology Operations

About the role

Join Walmart Global Tech’s Technology Operations team as a Systems Administrator. You will work in a 24x7 control‑room environment, ensuring critical batch jobs and mainframe systems run smoothly and meet their Service Level Agreements.

Key responsibilities

• Perform daily control‑room duties: monitor alerts, handle batch job abends, and manage incidents following SOPs.
• Execute Control‑M tasks such as holding, releasing, and restarting jobs.
• Monitor and troubleshoot z/OS systems, review logs, and initiate IPLs, maintenance, and bounce activities.
• Use Chronos and other monitoring tools to track system health and report issues to senior leads.
• Create, update, and close incident tickets and RITMs in ServiceNow.
• Support data‑center operations, including batch processing issues and printer problems.
• Participate in EDIM (data‑center power‑outage) activities and other operational events.
• Handle customer support requests via phone, email, Zoom, Teams, or Slack while meeting response SLAs.

Required profile

• 1–3 years of experience in technology operations, control‑room, or system administration.
• Basic knowledge of mainframe environments (z/OS) and batch processing concepts.
• Familiarity with job‑scheduling tools, especially Control‑M.
• Experience using ServiceNow or similar ticketing systems.
• Ability to work in a 24x7 shift‑based environment and follow documented SOPs.
