System Engineering Project Manager – Rolling stock

About the role

Siemens Mobility is seeking a System Engineering Project Manager to lead complex rolling‑stock projects. You will be responsible for planning, executing, and controlling project activities while ensuring technical requirements, budgets, and timelines are met.

Key responsibilities

• Define project scope, objectives, and technical requirements in collaboration with stakeholders.
• Develop comprehensive project plans, schedules, resource allocations, and milestones.
• Manage scope changes and keep the project aligned with overall goals.
• Assemble and lead a multidisciplinary team of system engineers, software developers, and technical specialists.
• Assign tasks, provide technical guidance, mentorship, and support to the team.
• Maintain detailed project schedules, identify critical paths, and monitor dependencies.
• Control project budget, implement cost‑control measures, and report on KPIs.
• Identify, analyze, and mitigate technical, operational, and organizational risks.
• Act as the liaison between the rolling‑stock business unit and the Engineering Center in India.
• Facilitate communication with customers, executives, and cross‑functional teams, providing regular progress updates and technical reports.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading multidisciplinary engineering projects.
• Strong project management skills, including scope, schedule, and budget control.
• Ability to assess and mitigate risks proactively.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
• Experience working in a global, matrixed organization.
