System Administrator

About the role

Folks, an artist‑driven boutique studio specializing in high‑end visual effects, is looking for a System Administrator to join its London team. You will be responsible for maintaining and optimizing the studio’s IT infrastructure, ensuring reliable operation of servers, workstations and virtual environments.

Key responsibilities

• Install and configure software and hardware across the studio.
• Set up user accounts and workstations.
• Monitor system performance and maintain systems according to requirements.
• Maintain, configure, and ensure reliable operation of computer systems, networks, servers, and virtualization platforms.
• Install and upgrade computer components and software, manage virtual servers, and integrate automation processes.
• Troubleshoot hardware and software errors, run diagnostics, document problems and resolutions, and assess impact.
• Lead desktop and help‑desk support, resolving workstation and application issues promptly.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in system administration.
• Experience in the VFX or animation industry is preferred.
• Willingness to work rotational shifts.
• Advanced proficiency with Linux (beyond user level).
