System Administrator (Active Directory & Hyper‑V)

About the role

The Active Directory and Hyper‑V Administrator will design, implement, manage, and support the organization’s Microsoft AD infrastructure and Hyper‑V virtualization environment. This position ensures secure access, high availability, and optimal performance of identity and virtualization services that underpin business operations and IT projects.

Key responsibilities

• Design, configure, and maintain AD forests, domains, OUs, user/group accounts, permissions, and GPOs.
• Monitor AD health, perform backups, and execute disaster‑recovery procedures.
• Implement security policies, password policies, and access controls.
• Install, configure, and maintain Hyper‑V hosts, clusters, and virtual machines.
• Optimize VM resource allocation, performance, and capacity planning.
• Perform regular VM backups, snapshots, and DR testing.
• Automate routine tasks with PowerShell or other scripting tools.
• Integrate AD and Hyper‑V with Microsoft and third‑party systems.
• Maintain documentation of configurations, procedures, and policies.
• Provide tier‑2/3 support for AD and Hyper‑V incidents and collaborate with other IT teams.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Proven experience administering Microsoft Active Directory.
• Hands‑on experience managing Microsoft Hyper‑V platforms.
• Strong understanding of Windows Server operating systems and networking fundamentals.
• Experience with PowerShell scripting for automation.
• Excellent troubleshooting, problem‑solving, communication, and documentation skills.
