Sustainability Controller

About the role

We are seeking a Sustainability Controller to strengthen the governance and control framework for our Group's sustainability disclosures and reporting. You will act as the subject‑matter expert on ESG reporting, ensuring that metrics and disclosures are accurate, complete, and aligned with emerging regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Define and maintain the governance process, timelines, documentation, and control standards for sustainability metrics and disclosures.
• Challenge, approve, and validate proposed metrics to ensure they are fit for purpose.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for metric owners, disclosure owners, and other stakeholders.
• Coordinate with data providers to embed the control framework and educate on reporting requirements.
• Perform content and analytical reviews of Group sustainability disclosures and assess the impact of reporting revisions.
• Support assurance activities and act as the interface between auditors and internal teams.
• Conduct and review metric reporting risk assessments.
• Integrate new ESG regulatory requirements and standards into day‑to‑day processes.

Required profile

• Qualified accounting designation (ACA, ACCA, or equivalent).
• Strong controlling experience within a financial institution and solid accounting background (IFRS, US GAAP).
• 10+ years of experience in financial services or an accounting firm, with proven sustainability reporting experience.
• Deep knowledge of ESG disclosure frameworks and upcoming regulations.
• Excellent problem‑solving, interpersonal, and communication skills.
