Supplier Engineer – Electrical/Quality

About the role

Applied Materials, a global leader in materials science and engineering, is seeking a Supplier Engineer focused on electrical and quality aspects. The role supports new product development and supplier integration to ensure high‑quality, cost‑effective manufacturing for advanced semiconductor equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with New Product Development teams to define and communicate engineering drawing requirements to suppliers.
• Engage with New Product Introduction teams to involve suppliers in specification reviews and design‑for‑manufacturability.
• Use project‑management and quality tools to evaluate alternate manufacturing processes for cost reduction and reliability improvement.
• Participate in supplier selection, technical audits, and performance assessments to build a competitive supply base.
• Assist in quality problem resolution, incident management, root‑cause analysis, and corrective‑action implementation.

Required profile

• Solid knowledge in electrical engineering disciplines with ongoing development of higher‑level expertise.
• Ability to solve straightforward engineering problems using standard procedures and moderate guidance.
• Understanding of company processes, customer requirements, and basic business integration.

Required skills

• Proficiency with AC Boxes, Electrical Rotating Machines, Transformers, Cable Harnesses, and Electrical OEM components.
• Familiarity with IPC‑610, IPC‑620, IE‑56, IEC 60439‑1, IEC 61439‑1 standards and UL certifications (e.g., UL 508A, MTR).
• Experience in electrical load testing, winding testing, routine and type testing of AC and DC motors.
• Calibration of electrical and mechanical instruments according to ISO/IEC 17025 and NABL guidelines.
