Supplier Account Manager – Chemical Delivery

About the role

The Chemical Delivery (CD) Supplier Account Manager manages strategic relationships with assigned CD suppliers, ensuring cost, quality and delivery performance align with Applied Materials’ goals. The role covers end‑to‑end supply‑chain engagement, supplier qualification and risk mitigation for equipment sourcing.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute commodity strategies for CD items such as gas kits, panels, weldments, fittings, tubing, manifolds and ultra‑high purity valves.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with CD suppliers and measure KPI’s covering cost, quality, delivery and lead time.
• Identify alternate sources to mitigate supply risk and ensure continuity of supply.
• Lead supplier qualification processes, including technical capability assessments and compliance with standards (ASME, ASTM, SEMI, ISO).
• Negotiate commercial terms and contracts, and collaborate with engineering to qualify new suppliers and materials.
• Act as escalation point for supplier issues, drive resolution and support systemic supply‑chain improvements.
• Analyze market trends and cost structures to identify reduction opportunities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field.
• 10+ years of experience in manufacturing, strategic sourcing or category management, with at least 5 years leading large‑scale commercial negotiations.
• Experience procuring equipment from CD suppliers and working in a global, matrixed environment.
• Indian citizenship, valid passport, ability to travel up to 35% of the time internationally.
• Flexibility to work across multiple time zones and a valid driving licence.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
• Hands‑on experience with SAP and Power BI.
• Knowledge of Ariba RFQ tools (advantageous).
• Ability to read technical drawings and understand logistics & customs regulations.
