Supplier Account Manager – Advanced Materials

About the role

Applied Materials seeks a Supplier Account Manager to lead strategic relationships with suppliers of advanced materials such as ceramics, graphite and quartz. The role focuses on cost, quality and delivery performance while supporting the company’s global manufacturing footprint.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, qualify and develop strategic suppliers for advanced materials.
• Conduct regular capability and capacity assessments to mitigate supply‑chain risks.
• Measure supplier KPIs covering cost, quality, delivery and lead time.
• Negotiate commercial terms and contracts that align with organizational goals.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to qualify new materials and ensure cost targets are met.
• Act as escalation point for supplier issues and drive resolution.
• Monitor market trends, cost structures and identify opportunities for cost reduction.

Required profile

• Engineering degree in advanced materials, ceramics, mechanical or production engineering.
• 10+ years of experience in manufacturing, sourcing, procurement or supply‑chain management.
• Strong knowledge of ceramic manufacturing processes and large‑scale supplier negotiations.
• Experience working globally, including logistics and customs regulations.
• Willingness to travel up to 20% and work onsite in Bangalore.
