Student Assistant for Research Projects on Corruption & Inequality

About the role

The Student Assistant will support two research projects affiliated with the Chair that investigate corruption, clientelism, and inequality in Eastern Europe. Working within a multinational, SNSF‑funded initiative, the assistant will contribute to data collection, analysis, and dissemination of findings across partner institutions.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in literature reviews and data gathering for the RISE project and the Serbia clientelism study.
• Support the preparation of research reports, policy briefs, and conference presentations.
• Coordinate communication with project partners in Bulgaria, Croatia, Hungary, Poland, Romania, and Serbia.
• Maintain project documentation, databases, and reference materials.
• Participate in team meetings and contribute to the development of research methodologies.

Required profile

• Enrolled in a university program related to political science, sociology, economics, or a comparable field.
• Strong interest in governance, corruption, and inequality issues in Eastern Europe.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multicultural research team.
