Stores Executive / Storekeeper – Construction Site

About the role

The Stores Executive / Storekeeper will manage day‑to‑day store operations on a residential construction site. You will be responsible for receiving, verifying, storing, tracking, and issuing materials needed for construction activities while maintaining accurate inventory records.

Key responsibilities

• Receive and verify materials against purchase orders, delivery challans and specifications; prepare Goods Receipt Notes.
• Maintain up‑to‑date inventory registers and ERP/inventory system entries for all materials, tools and consumables.
• Issue materials to engineers, supervisors and subcontractors based on approved requisitions and record outward movements.
• Ensure proper stacking, labeling and storage to prevent damage, theft or wastage.
• Prepare and keep documentation for GRNs, inward/outward registers, stock reports and delivery challans.
• Assist in periodic physical stock counts and reconcile discrepancies.
• Coordinate with procurement and execution teams to guarantee timely material availability.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Supply Chain, Logistics or Engineering (preferred).
• Minimum 5 years of store management and inventory control experience, preferably in construction or infrastructure projects.
• Diploma or certification in Material Management / Inventory Management is an advantage.

Required skills

• Knowledge of construction materials and inventory management practices.
• Experience handling material documentation such as GRNs, challans and inventory registers.
• Familiarity with ERP systems or dedicated inventory management software.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and basic reporting tools.
