Store Keeper – Construction Materials Management

About the role

The Store Keeper will oversee the receipt, storage, and issue of construction materials, tools, and equipment at the project site. This role ensures that all items are properly documented, safely stored, and readily available to support uninterrupted construction activities.

Key responsibilities

• Receive and verify construction materials such as cement, steel, sand, tiles, electrical and plumbing items.
• Maintain accurate stock registers for inward and outward movements.
• Issue materials to site engineers or contractors based on approved requisitions.
• Ensure proper storage conditions to prevent damage, theft, or wastage.
• Monitor minimum stock levels and alert the procurement team for replenishment.
• Maintain material consumption records and track usage trends.
• Conduct periodic physical stock verification and handle Goods Receipt Note (GRN) documentation.
• Maintain records of tools, machinery, and equipment.
• Uphold housekeeping and safety standards within the store area.

Required profile

• Minimum 12th pass or graduate; diploma in store/material management is a plus.
• Experience in real‑estate, construction, or infrastructure projects preferred.
• Familiarity with site store operations and material handling.
• Physically fit and willing to work on construction sites.
• Basic understanding of safety practices.

Required skills

• Knowledge of construction materials and site operations.
• Basic computer skills, especially MS Excel.
• Experience with ERP systems for inventory management.
