State Head – Wires & Cables (Power Division)

About the role

The State Head will lead the launch and growth of Sturlite's new Power Division for wires, cables and switchgear across a designated Indian state or territory. Reporting to the Joint Business Head – Power, you will own the P&L, build market presence from scratch and leverage the existing lighting dealer network to create a strong distribution channel.

Key responsibilities

• Lead a team of 46 Area Sales Managers and 1,828 Territory Sales Executives.
• Develop and execute a state‑wide sales strategy for wires, cables, and switchgear products.
• Travel 12‑15 days per month across the assigned state or cluster to engage distributors, retailers and key accounts.
• Manage the state P&L, set targets, monitor performance and drive profitability.
• Utilise Sturlite’s 16,000+ partner network to accelerate market entry.
• Represent high‑quality, ISI‑marked products against major competitors such as Polycab, Finolex, KEI and RR Kabel.

Required profile

• Senior management experience in sales or business development, preferably within the electrical power sector.
• Proven track record of building new product categories or turning around market segments.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage large field teams.
• Willingness to travel extensively and work from the state capital or key commercial hub.
