Staff Software Engineer – Developer Productivity

About the role

Fivetran is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to join the Platform Ops team and drive developer productivity across the organization. You will lead the design, implementation, and operation of internal tooling, self‑service workflows, and observability improvements that enable engineers to ship faster and more reliably.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end projects that improve developer tooling, environments, and operational workflows.
• Design, build, and operate internal services in Python and/or Go.
• Create self‑service capabilities for the internal developer platform across AWS, Azure, and GCP.
• Develop AI‑based workflows to automate repetitive tasks and enhance infrastructure operations.
• Improve observability (metrics, logs, traces) to shorten incident resolution times.
• Mentor engineers through design reviews and guide technical direction.

Required profile

• Strong experience building and operating production services in Python and/or Go.
• Hands‑on experience with at least one major cloud provider (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and core primitives such as IAM, networking, and compute.
• Proven track record leading ambiguous, cross‑team technical projects to completion.
• Excellent communication skills and solid engineering judgment.
