Staff Software Engineer – AI Platform

About the role

Addepar is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to lead the design, development, and operation of the backend and platform systems that power its AI Platform. The role focuses on building scalable, secure, and reliable services that enable natural‑language and data‑intelligence experiences for clients worldwide. You will work closely with frontend, product, and AI/ML teams in a hybrid environment based in Pune.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate backend services and cloud‑native infrastructure for AI Platform products.
• Develop production‑grade code with strong emphasis on maintainability, performance, and reliability.
• Architect distributed, event‑driven systems supporting real‑time interactions and asynchronous processing.
• Implement infrastructure‑as‑code using Terraform and manage Kubernetes/EKS deployments.
• Create and improve CI/CD pipelines, release workflows, and engineering productivity tools.
• Establish observability, monitoring, logging, and alerting across the platform.

Required profile

• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience, with significant backend or platform focus.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong fundamentals in system design, debugging, testing, and operational ownership.
• Hands‑on experience with production cloud infrastructure and infrastructure‑as‑code.
• Ability to mentor engineers and drive technical decisions.
