Staff Nurse – Ophthalmology

About the role

As a Staff Nurse at Eye-Q Eye Hospitals you will deliver high‑quality patient care within a dynamic ophthalmic setting. You will assess patient needs, administer medications, maintain records and support physicians during examinations and procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care focused on ophthalmic procedures and treatments.
• Monitor and record vital signs and patient health data.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by the physician.
• Assist in various eye surgeries and procedures while ensuring a sterile environment.
• Educate patients and families on eye health, treatment plans and post‑operative care.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive patient care.
• Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date patient records and documentation.
• Participate in quality‑improvement initiatives and adhere to safety protocols.
• Provide emotional support and reassurance to patients and their families.

Required profile

• Valid nursing degree and registration with the relevant nursing council.
• Previous experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in ophthalmology or related fields.
• Proficiency in using medical equipment and technology related to eye care.
• Strong critical thinking and problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced environment and manage multiple tasks.
• Knowledge of infection control and safety protocols.
