Staff Nurse – Maternity & Pediatric Care

About the role

The Staff Nurse at Motherhood Hospital in Chandigarh provides safe, evidence‑based nursing care to women, newborns and children. Working on a full‑time, on‑site basis, you will support patients throughout labour, delivery, post‑natal recovery and paediatric treatment.

Key responsibilities

• Perform daily patient assessments, monitor vital signs and document clinical observations.
• Administer medications, treatments and assist physicians during examinations, procedures, labour and delivery.
• Maintain accurate electronic medical records and ensure proper equipment preparation.
• Uphold infection‑control and safety standards in the ward, labour room and related units.
• Educate and counsel patients and families on treatment plans, post‑natal care, breastfeeding and paediatric health.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and participate in quality‑improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse qualification (GNM or B.Sc. Nursing) with valid council registration.
• Clinical experience in obstetrics, gynaecology, labour‑delivery, neonatal or paediatric nursing preferred.
• Ability to work rotating shifts, manage multiple patients and function in a fast‑paced environment.
• Commitment to compassionate, non‑discriminatory and culturally sensitive care.

Required skills

• Electronic Medical Records (EMR) proficiency.
• Strong patient assessment and medication administration capabilities.
• Knowledge of infection‑control procedures and hospital equipment relevant to maternity and paediatric care.
