Staff Engineer – Rust & Distributed Systems

About the role

We are seeking a Staff Engineer to design, develop, and maintain high‑performance software libraries and features in Rust. The role focuses on building internal and customer‑facing command‑line and REST API tools, while enhancing telemetry, observability, and monitoring across our distributed storage solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain Rust‑based software libraries, CLI tools, and REST APIs for internal and external use.
• Implement telemetry, observability, and monitoring solutions using Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, and custom agents.
• Write and maintain unit, functional, and automation tests to ensure robust deliverables.
• Collaborate with engineering managers and a globally distributed team to translate requirements into scalable solutions.
• Configure and maintain Jenkins‑based CI/CD pipelines and work with QA and DevOps teams.
• Debug and resolve customer escalations, focusing on performance and stability issues.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• 7+ years of experience in Linux system environments with deep knowledge of Linux internals.
• Strong expertise in Rust development.
• 3+ years working with enterprise‑class or HPC storage and distributed systems.
