Staff Engineer – ECAD PCB Design Engineer – Chassis Systems

About the role

The Hardware Engineering team is looking for a Staff Engineer to lead ECAD PCB design for next‑generation server and storage platforms, handling high‑speed, high‑density multilayer boards from concept through production.

Key responsibilities

• Import mechanical model data and produce PCB outlines and component placement based on mechanical and electrical constraints.
• Route high‑speed signals following design‑for‑manufacturability and testability guidelines for PCIe Gen6/7, SAS, Ethernet, DDR5 and other interfaces.
• Lead PCB design through concept, prototype, new‑product introduction and sustaining phases, ensuring compliance with electrical, thermal, reliability and cost targets.
• Collaborate with mechanical, thermal, manufacturing and supply‑base teams to integrate boards into dense server and storage chassis.

Required profile

• Extensive experience designing complex multilayer (up to 24‑layer) high‑speed PCBs for enterprise servers, storage systems or networking equipment.
• Strong knowledge of signal integrity, power integrity, EMI/EMC mitigation and PCB fabrication/assembly processes.
• Proven ability to work in cross‑functional, multi‑disciplinary teams and mentor junior engineers.

Required skills

• Siemens Xpedition, Cadence Allegro, Altium Designer (or equivalent enterprise ECAD tools).
• High‑speed digital design, signal‑integrity and power‑integrity analysis.
• PCB stack‑up development, DFM/DFA/DFT practices.
• Knowledge of DDR4/DDR5, PCIe Gen6/7, SAS, SATA, SERDES and Ethernet (10‑400 Gb) technologies.
