Staff Cloud Infra Engineer

About the role

Join Skylo’s core platform team in Bangalore and own a critical part of the cloud‑native infrastructure that powers the world’s first commercial direct‑to‑device satellite network. You will design, build, and operate the Kubernetes and IaC foundations that run across cloud regions and edge sites.

Key responsibilities

• Own and operate a multi‑cluster, multi‑region Kubernetes platform, including lifecycle, upgrades, networking and resource management.
• Develop and maintain infrastructure‑as‑code artifacts (Terraform or equivalent) and extend the developer platform with golden paths and progressive delivery.
• Design, implement and manage CI/CD pipelines for a range of workloads, ensuring latency and availability requirements.
• Instrument services against SLOs, build observability (metrics, logs, tracing) and drive down toil through automation.
• Lead on‑call incidents, write post‑mortems and improve alerting and capacity planning.
• Implement platform security controls such as least‑privilege IAM, secrets management, network segmentation, image scanning and supply‑chain integrity.

Required profile

• 7+ years in infrastructure, platform, DevOps or SRE roles with end‑to‑end production ownership.
• Deep hands‑on experience operating Kubernetes at scale (upgrades, networking, resource limits, debugging).
• Strong expertise in AWS or GCP; exposure to a second cloud or hybrid/edge environments is a plus.
• Proven practice with infrastructure‑as‑code tools (Terraform or equivalent) and versioned, tested artifacts.
• Proficiency in Go or Python for building tooling.
• Demonstrated reliability ownership: on‑call, incident handling and post‑mortem driven improvements.
• Working knowledge of infrastructure security (IAM, secrets, network policies, container hardening).
