Staff Backend Engineer – Alerts (Core)

About the role

We are looking for a Staff Backend Engineer to join the Pulse team and own the development of our alerting module. You will design, build and ensure the reliability of features that handle thousands of alerts for our open‑source observability platform.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement robust, scalable alert features and integrations with tools such as JIRA and incident.io.
• Develop core backend components and APIs in Go, focusing on high performance and concurrency.
• Maintain and improve the reliability of the alerts system handling large volumes of alerts.

Required profile

• 5–10 years of professional experience developing in Go.
• Deep understanding of Go concurrency primitives (goroutines, channels, locks) and performance optimization.
• Proven experience building distributed systems and writing clean, scalable code.
• Passion for open‑source, with prior contributions to OSS projects.
