Staff Accountant – India Exchange

About the role

As a Staff Accountant on Coinbase’s Finance team, you will manage the day‑to‑day accounting operations for the India exchange entity. You will own month‑end and quarter‑end close, maintain parallel books under US GAAP and Ind AS, and ensure compliance with Indian regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Own month‑end and quarter‑end close, including journal entries, reconciliations, variance analysis and financial statement preparation for both consolidated audits and local statutory reporting.
• Maintain parallel books of accounts in accordance with Ind AS and US GAAP, ensuring all adjustments are properly reconciled and documented.
• Coordinate with FP&A, Tax, Treasury, Payroll and Source‑to‑Pay teams to guarantee accurate accounting, timely regulatory filings and proper intercompany settlement.
• Support liquidity management and customer funds safeguarding procedures in close partnership with Treasury.
• Drive improvements to accounting systems, processes and controls, including automation initiatives and vendor transitions.
• Review and mentor junior team members while keeping process documentation up to date.

Required profile

• Chartered Accountant (CA) or equivalent professional qualification.
• 3+ years of progressive accounting experience at a Big 4 firm, publicly traded fintech or SaaS company.
• Proven ownership of month‑end and quarter‑end close processes.
• Strong understanding of US GAAP, Ind AS and familiarity with IFRS and SOX compliance.
