Specialist Tax Accounting – Global Tax Team

About the role

Join 3M’s Global Tax organization as a Specialist Tax Accounting professional. You will support direct tax accounting activities for business units across the United States and other regions, ensuring accurate and compliant reporting in a fast‑paced, multinational environment.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review tax accounting entries, perform tax‑related reconciliations, and execute adjustments for month‑end, quarter‑end, and year‑end close.
• Maintain accurate tax balances in the general ledger and ensure compliance with global accounting standards and tax policies.
• Collaborate with regional tax and finance teams to exchange information, resolve issues, support audits, and prepare supporting schedules for U.S. and non‑U.S. entities.
• Calculate, review, and validate withholding tax obligations on cross‑border payments, ensuring timely filings and payments across jurisdictions.
• Drive standardization, automation, system enhancements, and continuous improvement initiatives within tax and accounting processes.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline (verified prior to start).
• 4–8 years of experience in tax accounting or general‑ledger accounting.
• Strong understanding of record‑to‑report processes and tax accounting under US GAAP.
• Ability to work effectively in a global, virtual, cross‑functional environment with strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
