Specialist Pharmacist

About the role

We are seeking a Specialist Pharmacist to join the Pharmacy Department at Golden Jubilee University National Hospital. The role involves delivering safe, effective and person‑centred pharmaceutical care across intensive care, thoracic, cardiac surgery, cardiology and orthopaedic surgery services.

Key responsibilities

• Provide a full range of clinical pharmacy services and pharmaceutical care to patients in intensive care, thoracic, cardiac surgery, cardiology and orthopaedic surgery units.
• Offer prescribing support to clinical staff to ensure safe, clinical and cost‑effective use of medicines.
• Ensure compliance with medicines management policies, safety standards and relevant legislation.
• Participate in education duties, research activities and the RPS Core Advanced Practice portfolio.
• Undertake weekend, public holiday and on‑call duties as part of a 36‑hour weekly schedule.

Required profile

• Qualified pharmacist, eligible to work within NHS Golden Jubilee.
• Willingness to engage in clinical practice, education and research.
• Commitment to continuous improvement and multidisciplinary collaboration.
• Availability for weekend, public holiday and on‑call responsibilities.
