Key responsibilities

• Examine patients and record their history in the EMR safely, compassionately and ethically, complying with Good Medical Practice.
• Request investigations and record the results in the medical chart.
• Conduct daily ward rounds and document notes on patient progress and health status.
• Follow the management plan approved by the registrar/consultant in‑charge.
• Work as a team member during on‑call duties to ensure comprehensive patient management.
• Assist senior team members in performing invasive procedures.
• Handle common clinical scenarios and emergencies such as cardio‑pulmonary resuscitation and communicate with senior staff.
• Liaise with the clinical services committee of the department.
• Maintain accurate medical records.
• Participate in inter‑departmental clinical meetings to ensure comprehensive patient management.
• Adhere to quality indicators, patient bylaws, turnaround times, departmental protocols and prescribed infection‑control standards.
