Sourcing Manager – India (Bangalore)

About the role

Join Armstrong Fluid Technology as a Sourcing Manager for India, leading sourcing activities for indirect materials and key categories such as motors, diesel engines, drives, fabrication, and outsourced machining. You will collaborate with Purchase and Planning Managers and global commodity managers to align with sourcing strategies, optimise costs, develop suppliers, and ensure supply continuity.

Key responsibilities

• Develop category‑specific strategies in collaboration with key stakeholders.
• Support sustainable supplier and category strategies by evaluating supplier landscape, capacity, capability and competitiveness.
• Create cost models and provide cost‑driver visibility.
• Lead cost‑reduction initiatives and conduct regular cost benchmarking.
• Participate in new product development by evaluating new suppliers and capabilities.
• Manage supplier performance with cross‑functional partners to drive improvement.
• Ensure compliance with governance, sourcing, supplier selection and cost approval processes.
• Conduct market risk assessments and develop mitigation plans.
• Provide critical supply solutions based on plant operations.
• Drive supplier consolidation to reduce supply‑chain complexity.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering or equivalent experience.
• College diploma in Supply Chain Management (asset).
• Supply Chain Management certification (SCMP, ISM, ASCM) considered a strong asset.
• Minimum five years’ experience in procurement and category management within industrial/manufacturing sectors.
• Proven expertise in sourcing high‑impact foundry materials and raw metal alloys.
• Experience managing end‑to‑end procurement of engineering components such as castings, motors, drives, diesel engine parts, machined parts, pipes and fittings.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate with cross‑functional teams in multi‑site, international supply‑chain environments.
• Hands‑on experience developing best‑practice cost management, supplier management and risk mitigation.
• Strong understanding of ERP systems in an industrial manufacturing setting.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
