Software Test Engineer (Manual & Automation)

About the role

We are looking for a Software Test Engineer to join our web application development team in Kochi. The role involves both manual and automated testing of enterprise‑level software for Fortune 100 clients, with close interaction with onsite and offshore teams.

Key responsibilities

• Execute manual and automated test cases for web‑based products.
• Develop, review, and maintain functional and regression test suites.
• Report, track, and follow up defects using defect‑tracking tools.
• Collaborate daily with developers, QA leads, and client stakeholders to ensure timely defect resolution.
• Participate in daily stand‑up meetings, status reporting, and timesheet updates.
• Support the automation testing team and provide prompt customer support for issue resolution.

Required profile

• Minimum 1 year of experience in manual testing or automation of web applications.
• Strong understanding of STLC, software testing methodologies, and test case development.
• Good communication skills and ability to work in multicultural, US‑client environments.
• Team‑player attitude with a focus on quality and adherence to processes.

Required skills

• QTP/UFT or Selenium automation tools.
• Java programming (for Selenium) or VBScript (for QTP/UFT).
• Manual testing techniques and test case design.
• Defect tracking tools (e.g., JIRA, HP ALM).
• Knowledge of functional documentation and regression testing.
