Software Technologist I – Embedded C++

About the role

As a Software Technologist specializing in Embedded Systems, you will design, develop, and maintain device software for medical devices. The role combines hands‑on development with the ability to guide others and architect solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse, design, code, test, debug, secure, and deploy embedded software enhancements.
• Integrate and maintain software in test environments and production devices.
• Collaborate with product owners to refine requirements and implement necessary modifications.
• Apply agile development practices within an agile team.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical/Electronics, Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field.
• 4–9 years of proven experience in embedded systems, preferably in the medical or highly regulated industry.
• Strong communication, collaboration and influencing skills.

Required skills

• Embedded C/C++ development.
• RTOS experience (ThreadX required, FreeRTOS preferred).
• ARM architecture and microcontroller knowledge.
• Interfaces: USB, Ethernet, I2C, SPI, UART, timers.
• Familiarity with IEC 62304, FDA medical device guidance and other regulatory standards.
• Agile and SAFe development practices.
• Safety concepts, FMEA, V‑model and SDLC understanding.
