Software System Designer – ESC Control Unit for Pneumatic Braking

About the role

We are looking for a Software System Designer to develop and validate ESC control units for pneumatic braking in commercial vehicles. The role involves designing algorithms, integrating system functions and ensuring functional safety compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and validate braking control algorithms using MATLAB/Simulink from concept to production release.
• Develop and maintain system functions for ABS, EBS, ESC, TCS, HSA, RSC and brake‑blending.
• Perform requirements engineering, feature allocation and traceability across system and software domains.
• Analyse vehicle dynamics, braking performance, diagnostic concepts and fail‑safe/fail‑operational strategies.
• Support validation activities including HIL, SIL, MIL testing and vehicle testing.
• Explore AI/ML‑based solutions for predictive braking, anomaly detection and advanced diagnostics.
• Collaborate with global cross‑functional teams, customers and suppliers on technical reviews and project delivery.
• Prepare and review technical documentation, safety work products and engineering reports in line with automotive standards.

Required profile

• 6–8 years of automotive system engineering experience, preferably on commercial‑vehicle ESC/EBS control units.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automotive Engineering, Control Systems or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of Functional Safety (ISO 26262) and experience with safety analysis, diagnostics and ASIL‑C concepts.
