Software Factory Architect (Lead Developer) – Vehicle Motion (VM)

About the role

We are looking for a hands‑on Software Factory Architect to lead the creation and deployment of a Global Software Factory & Developer Platform for the Vehicle Motion business unit. This high‑impact role combines deep engineering expertise with architectural leadership to accelerate safety‑critical software development.

Key responsibilities

• Define and roll out a modern IDE experience using Visual Studio Code, GitHub Copilot and DevContainers.
• Design and implement CI/CT pipelines with GitHub Actions and self‑hosted runners.
• Engineer robust build and dependency systems using Conan, Make and the internal Make Tool Chain (MTC).
• Integrate safety‑critical testing frameworks such as Cantata and ECU‑TEST, plus custom simulation tools.
• Develop Infrastructure‑as‑Code using Python, PowerShell, Bash, Terraform and Docker containers.
• Coach global development teams on AI‑accelerated coding assistants and modern engineering methodologies.
• Establish coding standards, architectural guidelines and governance across the Vehicle Motion organization.
• Monitor CI/CT efficiency, build times and developer productivity, and drive continuous optimisation.
• Embed security scanning, compliance checks and automotive safety standards into automated pipelines.
• Collaborate with product, QA, operations and business stakeholders to align the platform roadmap.
• Create documentation, runbooks and training material to ensure platform adoption.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related technical field.
• 8+ years of hands‑on software development and platform engineering experience with a strong software architecture foundation.
