Software Engineer – Maths & Systems

About the role

We are seeking an innovative Software Engineer to join Siemens Digital Industries Software and help integrate Simcenter Compose, our powerful math and scripting platform, into a broader range of Siemens applications and workflows. You will play a pivotal role in shaping the synergy created by the recent Altair acquisition.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute the integration strategy between Simcenter Compose and selected Siemens applications.
• Collaborate with development teams to design and implement APIs for seamless interoperability.
• Support and guide developers in using, debugging, and optimizing these APIs.
• Develop new Compose toolboxes to expose and package application functionality for end users.
• Design and implement regression tests to ensure reliability of newly integrated features.
• Maintain high code quality while working within large, existing codebases.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, or a related technical field.
• 3+ years of software development experience with C/C++.
• Strong understanding of scripting languages such as Python, MATLAB, Octave, or Julia.
• Experience integrating C/C++ with interpreted languages (e.g., Python bindings).
• Familiarity with GUI frameworks (such as Qt) and version control systems (e.g., Git).
• Excellent communication skills to understand complex systems and explain technical concepts clearly.
