Software Engineer – Java & Spring Boot (SAFe Agile)

About the role

Mastercard is looking for a technically strong Software Engineer to join its payment platform team in Pune. You will work within a globally distributed, SAFe‑aligned delivery model, collaborating with onshore teams to build and maintain high‑availability, mission‑critical systems.

Key responsibilities

• Participate in SAFe Scrum teams, contributing to sprint planning, execution, and continuous improvement.
• Collaborate closely with onshore engineering teams to deliver features, resolve defects, and ensure seamless integration.
• Design, develop, and maintain solutions across a multi‑technology stack.
• Provide production support for critical live systems, ensuring performance, resilience, and compliance with enterprise standards.
• Drive engineering best practices, automation, and process enhancements to improve delivery efficiency and quality.

Required profile

• Strong Java development experience with exposure to the Spring‑Boot framework.
• Hands‑on experience with test‑driven development using JUnit, Selenium, Cucumber or similar tools.
• Familiarity with front‑end technologies such as Angular and JavaScript.
• Knowledge of SQL scripting, Oracle databases, and relational data handling.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments, preferably within a SAFe framework, and a collaborative mindset for distributed teams.
