Software Engineer – Java

About the role

Caylent, an AI‑first cloud services company, is looking for a motivated Software Engineer with at least three years of experience to design, develop, and deploy modern web applications. The role focuses on Java and Angular development, with Python used for scripting and automation where needed.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and deploy scalable, secure, high‑performance applications using Java, Spring Boot, and Angular.
• Build and maintain RESTful APIs, backend services, and responsive front‑end components.
• Contribute across the full software development lifecycle, from requirements analysis to production support.
• Collaborate with solution architects and senior engineers to deliver maintainable, production‑ready solutions.
• Create reusable components, libraries, and automation utilities to improve engineering efficiency.
• Integrate applications with enterprise systems, third‑party APIs, databases, and AWS cloud services.
• Utilize Python for scripting, automation, and data‑processing tasks as required.
• Deploy and maintain applications on AWS (EC2, Lambda, S3, RDS, CloudWatch) and implement CI/CD pipelines using tools such as GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or GitLab CI.
• Write automated unit and integration tests, troubleshoot production issues, and optimise performance.

Required profile

• 3+ years of professional software development experience.
• Strong expertise in Java and Angular, with solid knowledge of Spring Boot.
• Working knowledge of Python for scripting or automation.
• Experience building RESTful APIs and cloud‑native applications on AWS.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing.
