Software Engineer

About the role

Microsoft Azure Storage is seeking a Software Engineer to design, develop, and maintain a high‑performance block storage platform that handles massive data volumes. You will work with cross‑functional teams to deliver scalable, reliable storage solutions and contribute to the next generation of Azure Ultra Disk technology.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with stakeholders to define user requirements for new features.
• Develop design documents, identify dependencies, and break down work items.
• Write clean, efficient, and reusable code for storage services.
• Provide estimations and contribute to project planning.
• Serve as a Designated Responsible Individual (DRI) on‑call, monitoring systems for issues and restoring service when needed.
• Stay current with emerging technologies to improve availability, reliability, and performance at scale.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
• Ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and government security screening requirements.

Required skills

• Proficiency in C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, and Python.
