Software Engineer II – .NET

About the role

UKG is looking for a Software Engineer II to join its workforce operating platform team. You will work on full‑stack .NET applications, contributing to both backend and frontend components while ensuring code quality and scalability.

Key responsibilities

• Develop clean, maintainable, and efficient full‑stack .NET code for new product features.
• Design and implement scalable architecture adhering to system design principles.
• Conduct thorough code reviews and enforce best‑practice guidelines.
• Create and automate tests using tools such as JUnit and Selenium, applying test‑automation patterns.
• Debug, troubleshoot, and resolve defects or customer‑reported issues promptly.
• Monitor service health, perform root‑cause analysis, and contribute to incident prevention.
• Own the end‑to‑end delivery cycle in a DevOps environment, from requirements to production support.
• Leverage Generative AI tools (e.g., Claude, Cursor, GitHub Copilot) to enhance productivity.
• Document new features, enhancements, and fixes, and assist in creating training material.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 2–4 years of professional software development experience.
• Proficiency in C# and the .NET ecosystem.
• Experience with SQL and No‑SQL databases for data operations and reporting.
• Familiarity with version control (Git/GitHub) and issue‑tracking tools (JIRA).
• Basic understanding of cloud technologies and DevOps principles.
