Software Engineer II (Java & React)

About the role

Mastercard is seeking a Software Engineer II to design, develop, and maintain high‑quality, secure, and scalable software solutions. You will work on both backend and frontend components, contributing to the company’s digital payments ecosystem.

Key responsibilities

• Program, test, implement, document, maintain, and support application software following Mastercard standards.
• Develop secure, scalable solutions based on technical specifications and design artifacts.
• Research and evaluate alternative technical solutions, including emerging technologies and frameworks.
• Perform feasibility studies, logic design, detailed flowcharting, and cost‑time analysis.
• Collaborate with project teams to meet deadlines, manage production incidents, and participate in on‑call support rotations.
• Document software programs according to best practices and follow Mastercard QA/QC processes.
• Assist senior team members with documentation templates and contribute to process improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in software engineering.
• Strong understanding of software engineering concepts and methodologies.
• Demonstrated Mastercard core competencies.

Required skills

• Java programming.
• Frontend development with ReactJS.
• Database experience with PostgreSQL.
• Data modelling and data architecture design.
• Advanced object‑oriented programming.
