Software Engineer II - Java

About the role

JPMorgan Chase is looking for a motivated Software Engineer II to join an agile team focused on building secure, stable, and scalable technology products. You will work on designing, developing, and troubleshooting software components while gaining experience that prepares you for future growth within the firm.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, test, and maintain high‑quality Java code with limited guidance.
• Leverage enterprise‑authorized AI coding assistants to improve code quality, generate unit tests, and create documentation.
• Apply secure coding standards and perform technical troubleshooting of moderate complexity.
• Collaborate with upstream and downstream teams to understand system implications.
• Utilize the full Software Development Life Cycle toolchain, including CI/CD pipelines and automation capabilities.
• Analyze large data sets to identify issues and support decision‑making for stable application development.

Required profile

• Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts.
• At least 2 years of hands‑on experience developing Java applications in a corporate environment.
• Experience using AI‑assisted development tools and the ability to validate AI‑generated outputs.
• Understanding of responsible AI use, data sensitivity, and security expectations.
• Familiarity with agile methodologies and the complete SDLC.
