Software Engineer II

About the role

Qualifacts is seeking a Software Engineer II to join its engineering team in Vadodara, India. You will work on building and enhancing a HIPAA‑compliant patient portal for the behavioral health market, using modern Python/Django and React technologies.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy backend services for a HIPAA‑compliant patient portal.
• Own complex features from architecture through production deployment.
• Contribute to system design decisions and raise the technical bar across the team.
• Integrate with external EHR systems via async, event‑driven pipelines.
• Mentor junior engineers through code reviews and technical guidance.
• Deliver frontend features in React when required.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience building production applications with Python/Django or similar stacks.
• Strong understanding of distributed systems, async workflows, event‑driven design, and SQL data modeling.
• Experience with AWS services such as Lambda, SQS, and SNS.
• Proficiency in React (including class components).
• Familiarity with healthcare compliance or EHR integrations is a plus.
• Ability to work onsite in Vadodara on the standard 11:00 AM‑8:00 PM IST shift.
